CFP for the 4th ARSAD conference (2013, March). The TransMedia Catalonia Research Group,at the CAIAC research center, and the EU project ADLAB (Audio Description: Lifelong Access for the Blind) are organizing the 4th Advanced Research Seminar on Audio Description (ARSAD), to be held in Barcelona on 13-14 March 2013. This international two-day seminar, sponsored by SUB-TI, SUB-TI ACCESS and FRED, aims to bring together practitioners and researchers in order to advance the knowledge of current Audio Description practices and research. The second Work Package 2 meeting (and steering group meeting) has been held in Barcelona (organized by the UAB partner) on 15th March, 2013. This has been in conjunction with the ARSAD conference (13-14th March, 2013), exclusively devoted to audio description, and which has provided the platform for the outreach meeting before national and international stakeholder guests.
An ADLAB Day took place on April 19th, 2013 in Trieste bringing together experts and providers in Italy. The audio track of each presentation will be made available soon. The Power Point presentations used by some presenters can be dowloaded clicking on the PPT links. All the material is in Italian.

2-day free training course organized by Senza Barriere, 9-10 November 2013, Milan (Via Tenca 7, 20124 Milano, Spazio Melampo; trainer: Sabrina Rondinelli). 25-30 applicants have participated out of 900 applications. Senza Barriere needs new audio describers and will select two out of the participants after a trial on two film excerpts.
