ADLAB Project

Professor of English Language and Translation in the Education Faculty at the University of Trieste. His main field of research is in the analysis of film language and the translation of multimodal texts. He has organised several international congresses including Tradurre il Cinema in Trieste and the European Systemic Functional Linguistics Conference & Workshop in Gorizia in 2006 as well as conferences relating to the Italian national research projects Linguatel, Didactas and Ecolingua. He is the Director of the University Language Centre in Trieste.

Elisa Perego (Researcher)

Tenured research fellow in English Language and Linguistics at the University of Trieste. She graduated cum laude in Foreign Languages (English and Hungarian) and was awarded a PhD in Linguistics (2004) at the University of Pavia. She currently teaches English linguistics at the Education Faculty of the University of Trieste. Her publications lie mainly in the field of audiovisual translation, relating specifically to subtitling, dubbing and audio description. Besides considering the linguistic aspects that characterize these translation methods, she is particularly interested in investigating their viewer/listener-oriented strategies via eye tracking methodologies.

Fabio Del Missier (Researcher)

Tenured research fellow in General Psychology at the University of Trieste. His research focuses on cognitive processes underlying human memory, judgement and decision making, and complex cognitive tasks. Ha has published several papers on these topics in international psychology journals as first author or co-author. He has participated in research projects funded by national and international research institutions (incuding the European Science Foundation, the Italian Ministry of Research): He is currently member of the editorial board of the Journal of Cognitive Psychology.

Doriana Coronica (Administrative secretary)

Doriana Coronicais Administrative Secretary/Accounts for the ADLAB project. Born in Trieste on 28th February 1957, she has a degree in Politics from the University of Trieste. Accountant and administrative secretary for the Department of Law, Languages, Interpreting and Translation at the University of Trieste.

Laura Simonin (Financial Project Manager)

Laura Simonin is ADLAB’s Financial Project Manager. She graduated cum laude in European, International and Comparative Law at the University of Trieste (2011). After enhancing her experience abroad (e.g. law firm assistant in Wales; Schumann trainee at the European Parliament of Brussels), she started working in the field of European Project Management and she obtained a Master’s degree in European Project Management at the Venice International University. Currently she is also working as a consultant to some local associations for the presentation of regional and national projects.
