Head of Audio-Description at Bayerischer Rundfunk – the public broadcaster for Southern Germany. He started with audio description in 1989 when the first movie was described in Germany and worked as an audio description author and narrator before he built up the AD department at BR in 1997. Today he mainly revises audio descriptions and directs the narrating and sound mixing process. |
Graduate in Cultural Studies from the University of Lüneburg, Germany. She wrote her masters dissertation on audio description and attend AD-training courses. In 1999 she started to work as a freelancer in the area of audio description, as an author in a team of three with another one sighted and one blind colleague. She has been working for several TV stations across Germany and she has been a PR-Assistant for Cinema Movies for two years. Since 2006 she has been a freelance AD-editor; her main activity is to revise AD-scripts and to direct the voice recording and the mixing process in sound studios (mostly for BR). She is also involved in other AD-projects like presenting theatre-plays, reading AD at film festivals, creating AD-Guides for cities, offering AD-trainings, etc. Since September 2011 she has been chairman of the non-profit association Hörfilm e.V.. |
